Chirag Kumar Paswan, born on 31 October 1982, is a prominent Indian politician and former actor. He has been serving as the 19th Minister of Food Processing Industries since June 2024. Chirag is the 1st president of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) since 2021 and a Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha, representing the Hajipur constituency since 2024.

Chirag Paswan was born to Ram Vilas Paswan, the founder of Lok Janshakti Party, and Reena Sharma, a Punjabi Hindu air hostess from Amritsar. Chirag is a college dropout, having left his studies in Computer Engineering during his third semester. Post his academic stint, Chirag ventured into Bollywood and starred in the Hindi movie "Miley Naa Miley Hum" in 2011.
Chirag Paswan's political journey began with his successful run for the Lok Janshakti Party in the 2014 elections from Jamui, where he defeated Sudhansu Shekhar Bhaskar of the Rashtriya Janata Dal by over 85,000 votes. He retained his seat in the 2019 elections, securing a significant victory over Bhudeo Choudhary.
In addition to his political roles, Chirag owns an NGO named Chirag Ka Rojgar, aimed at providing employment opportunities to the youth of his state. His dedication to public service and development is evident through his continuous efforts and initiatives.
Chirag was elected to the 16th Lok Sabha in 2014 from the Jamui constituency, while his father won from Hajipur. In 2021, Chirag faced internal party conflicts but emerged stronger, continuing his father's legacy and leadership in the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas).
